Andrew, Class of 2011

As a general rule, boys, once they reach a certain age, don't like having their photo taken. As an even better-known rule, senior boys dislike having their photo taken even more. Something about the wardrobe changes and incessant smiling doesn't agree with the male brain. Despite that disdain, they're almost always surprisingly photogenic. Such was the case with Andrew.

He certainly wasn't happy about having an entire photoshoot dedicated to him. I even joked with him that maybe he'd need a little vaseline for his teeth. (By the way, that joke is totally lost on boys. But every girl knows that's how the Miss America contestants keep on smiling.)

Andrew is very photogenic, even though he might not admit it. And I think he ended up having fun during our session, even though he definitely wouldn't admit that.

By the way, does saying "Class of 2011" make anyone else feel OLD?

I Hope Yellow's His Favorite Color

I photographed Michael a couple of years ago in the fall when things weren't so...yellow. But for our session today, literally EVERYTHING was yellow from pollen. Just stepping outside makes me feel like I'm covered in it, so there was no escaping it for this shoot. (I even tweeted earlier that I would have to adjust my white balance to account for all the yellow!) Luckily, we got the session in just before the rain came and washed at least a little of the pollen away. (I know my clients this weekend will be happy about that!)

Michael is in high school and he's such a good kid. Very mature for his age, funny, and very easy to carry on a conversation with. Oh, and extremely photogenic. I know a photo session isn't necessarily the way a high school boy wants to spend part of his spring break, but I hope he at least had fun exploring a little bit of Athens this morning! Enjoy the rest of your spring break, Michael!

Class of 2010 – Now Seeking Senior Reps!

H&M Photography is now seeking high school senior representatives for the class of 2010! If you are currently a high school junior or know a high school junior who might like to be a senior rep, here’s what you need to know.

In order to be a senior rep, you must:

• Have great style, lots of personality and enjoy being in front of the camera.
• Be a current high school junior graduating in 2010.
• Live in and attend school in one of the following counties: Clarke, Oconee, Barrow, Walton or Jackson.
• Be available to have your photos taken in March, April or May 2009.
• Agree to tell your friends and classmates about H&M photography and share your senior portraits with them.
• Have your parents or legal guardians sign a model release form.
• Agree to represent ONLY H&M Photography and use these images as your senior pictures.

Here’s what senior reps get:

• Free photo session(s) with unlimited clothing changes (up to $500 value). Photos may be completed in one session or several sessions at H&M’s discretion. Several locations may be used.
• The opportunity to earn print credit for every person they refer to H&M for senior portraits. (And their friends get perks, too!)
• 40 personalized referral cards to give to friends and classmates.
• Several of our favorite photos as low-resolution files to share on social networking sites like Facebook, Myspace or blogs.

Interested students should submit all information by Friday, February 20, 2009. Reps will be chosen in late February/early March by H&M Photography. Reps will be contacted if chosen and also announced on the blog and on Facebook. No more than two reps will be chosen from each school. No purchase is required by senior reps.
